Academics

A Classical, Christian, Conservative Approach

How we will bring back the education of our founding generation.

Academic Excellence Rooted in Timeless Wisdom

We pursue the highest standards of academic achievement through a rigorous classical curriculum that trains students to think deeply, reason clearly, and communicate effectively—equipping them with skills that endure far beyond the classroom.

Christ-Centered Formation

At the heart of all we do is a commitment to Christ. Our students are nurtured in a biblical worldview, learning to see all of life through the lens of truth, goodness, and beauty as revealed in Scripture, and developing character shaped by faith, humility, and virtue.

Preservation of Foundational Values

We stand firmly on the conservative principles that honor family, faith, liberty, and personal responsibility, preparing students not only to succeed academically but also to cherish and defend the enduring values that have strengthened generations.

Primary

K5-2nd Grade
A Classical Beginning for a Bright Future
At Classical House Prep, our K–2nd grade program offers a rich and joyful beginning to a lifetime of learning. Using the acclaimed Memoria Press classical curriculum, we focus on building strong readers, confident thinkers, and students who delight in knowledge. With a structured foundation in phonics, arithmetic, handwriting, and early Latin, children develop both academic skills and habits of excellence. Bible study, history, science, art, and music are seamlessly woven into each day, forming students who see truth, goodness, and beauty in all of life. In these formative years, we inspire a love for learning while laying a firm foundation in faith, virtue, and classical wisdom—preparing young hearts and minds for a bright and purposeful future.

Grammar

3rd-6th grade
Strengthening Minds, Shaping Hearts
In 3rd–6th grade, students at Classical House Prep build strong skills in reading comprehension, formal writing, grammar, and arithmetic through the proven classical methods of Memoria Press. Latin study deepens language skills and sharpens logical thinking, while history and science spark wonder and critical inquiry from a Christian worldview.

Students are challenged to think deeply, communicate clearly, and grow in virtue as they encounter great books, timeless truths, and the beauty of God’s creation—all within a supportive, faith-filled community.

Upper

7th-12th Grade
Forming Scholars, Cultivating Leaders
In 7th–12th grade, students at Classical House Prep enter the heart of the classical tradition with a rich and rigorous education designed to shape both mind and soul.

Through a mastery of classical literature, formal logic, Latin, rhetoric, and a strong foundation in mathematics and the sciences, students are trained to think critically, argue persuasively, and lead with wisdom.

History and theology are studied side by side, allowing students to see God's hand throughout the story of humanity.

Grounded in a biblical worldview and conservative principles, our students are equipped to engage the world with conviction, courage, and humility—prepared not only for college and career but for a lifetime of faithful service and leadership.

Litchfield Christian School has been such a beautiful blessing to our family. LCS is a Christ-centered school that challenges students academically, nurtures their creativity, promotes a positive learning environment, and contributes to their spiritual growth. LCS is very supportive, and they encourage their students and their families. Our daughter came into LCS completely broken and empty. Public school had taken a drastic toll on her mental health. She had pleaded with us for over a year to homeschool her. We were at a loss. Our daughter is a very social person, and we knew she needed more. We decided to check out LCS as an alternative. From the very moment we stepped inside LCS, we could see and feel the genuine love. EVERYONE felt as if they belonged. Before our day of observing was over, she had asked if she could please come to LCS. She was smiling and said this place is my kind of place. It's definitely been just that!

Today she is thriving, and she is truly enjoying herself. She loves to go to school, and she loves all of the teachers. She has made good friends and is blossoming in all areas of life. She's even started singing on stage during chapel. This has been the best decision we could have ever made as parents for our daughter. We are incredibly thankful for this opportunity in our hometown, and we truly appreciate that LCS offers grades K-12. How blessed we are to be a part of Litchfield Christian School. We look forward to many more amazing years here.
